Formed in 2006, The Union Suit is a three piece post-punk / independent rock band from Paducah, KY. Their method of writing music that they love, with no regard to public opinion, has had the ironic result of making The Union Suit one of the area's most popular and respected bands. Since its formation, the band has been a regular fixture at local hall shows and the occasional bar. However, during the Summer of 2009, the band began to receive a great deal of attention from a more adult, mainstream crowd. As a result, they began to receive invitations to many local bars and festivals. Historically, it was a rare occurrence for Paducah independent bands to be invited to play events such as the Summer Festival or BBQ on the River. The band siezed the opportunity to expose a wider audience to Paducah's often unnoticed original music scene, and accepted as many invitations as possible.

Hall show loyalty combined with this new found mainstream-Paducah acceptance has earned The Union Suit a very broad base of listeners. Their brand of music is said to be very accessable to an adult crowd, while at the same being loud and agressive enough to keep young listeners interested.
In Early 2010, Jerry split from The Union Suit. Rather than calling it quits or recruiting another guitarist, the three remaining members decided to continue as a three-piece. The result is a much more raw and energetic sound. They have not performed live since March 2010, taking time to adapt to this new configuration. The Union Suit will return to live performance on July 22, 2010 where they will make their second appearance at Paducah's Summer Festival. Although a handful of subsequent shows are planned, the band's focus will soon turn to writing and completion of their debut album.

Members of The Union Suit have played together (and separately) since the early 90's. Former bands include Meanson, Rookie of the Year, Room 27, Parallels, The County, Ozone Kite, and many more.
