Shark Week is Paducah's only girl punk band. Formed in August 2010 after Some Skank's break up, Shark Week is a female-fronted  punk band with songs that range from pop-punk to street-punk. The songs are 30 seconds to 2 minutes long; short, sweet and sharky. Our song topics include dreaming of Hulk Hogan, Pokemon, our love of pizza, Shana Mccoy, grilled cheese sandwiches and stupid bitches. Some of our influences are the Riverdales, Screeching Weasel, Black Flag, the Ramones, the Donnas, MTX, the Steinways, the Zero Boys, Teenage Head, the Unlovables, the Adolescents, the Manges and all of the bands in the Paducah Punk scene. Shark Week started as Toni Tigershark (Bettie Jo Scarecrow, Uncle Skunkle and the Scarecrow Family Band)  on guitar and vocals, CandyCanaan (Some Skank, Pogo Anal) on bass and vocals and Abbey Normal on drums.  We now have Addi Awkward (Animal Crackers,Pogo Anal) on drums due to distance and time issues with Abbs.  We're always seeking a local girl drummer to complete our all girl band. Shark Week played our first show on October 16 2010 with the Hi-Fi Ninja, the Wish You Weres, Uncle Skunkle, the Redliners and Pogo Anal. Ethan Rose (Uncle Skunkle) filled in on drums for the show.  We've played 4 shows since with Addi and are in the process of recording a 6 song demo with Parasite Diet's Josey Juice. We can't wait to do some touring this spring and make our music available to people who'd think we're as bad ass as we already know we are.
