Recently I got the awesome opportunity to view the current state of the building that housed one, if not THE most successful indie and punk rock clubs in Paducah Kentucky, Worlds Apart. I waited outside and from the street the only thing that you could even recognize that it was Worlds Apart was an old green awning that hung over the front of the club. A few businesses had occupied this space after Worlds Apart and they had attempted to paint over the awning with their name, but very lightly you could still see a few letters from the old punk club.

I was not allowed to video or take photographs on this trip, it was a very sad sad site to see what once held the screams and cheers of kids for bands like 1 Size Fits All, The Llamas, Squadcar, and many other local and out of town bands be in such a bad condition. The stage had obviously been torn out, the ceiling was black with the ceiling fans still entact, the carpet was still there, but other than that, the decorative border and green paint had covered the wall of where the mural once was. The upstairs had been completely gutted and had some graffiti painted on what remained of the walls. I am almost thankful I was not allowed to share what was left of this very important part of West Kentuckys Punk Rock Scene. Please email me your memories, pics, and anything you have to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it thanks.
